State Birds 4" x 4" and 4" x 5" collage/paintings on wood, each individually handmade. Each state bird is represented with a map of their corresponding state. I find that only half of the people who buy these paintings select them because of the state -- the other half pick their favorite bird! I love to do portraits of people and animals -- so far I've only had the opportunity to do cats, dogs, and birds, but I'd love to do horses, frogs, hissing cockroaches... you name it! The above pieces are all about 8"x10" and painted from photo reference. If you live nearby, I love to have an opportunity to meet the pet or person in question and get to know something about their character and presence, sketch them from life, and then take my own photos. Otherwise, I work from reference you send me. Price: An 8"x10" portrait of one subject is $300 unframed, $375 with coordinated mat and frame.
